Uh, didn't they burn down the house?

For anyone thinking of voting Republican I want to remind you that the economy crashed under their watch and the deficit they so suddenly care so much about is mostly from their years in power. So yah, the Democrats be building you a lame ass shack to replace you house, but it's the republicans that burned your house down to begin with.

PS: If you don't think the Dems are to blame for the crash, then you really just want to vote Republican and it has nothing to do with the economy or spending.

PSS: If you want less Government, well that's not an option. The Republicans are the ones who run up debt (Nixon, Reagan, W) by increasing spending. They just do it on Defence and "privatized" contracts. It's been the Dems (LBJ, Clinton) who balance budgets and cut spending in to pay for new programs.

PSSS: If you just want lower taxes and don't care about spending then you are just an asshole.

What does it make me if I think the whole system is F'd, most (probably closer to all) politicians are taking special interest money, and decent, ie non political people, like you and me are just tiny, tiny pawns in their "don't really give a sh*t as long as I get reelected" game.blest

I think it makes you observant. The questions is do we want to throw up our hands and say "f*&^ it" and let the system collapse onto us or do we want to employ the power we do have to try to enact change (knowing that it still may not be enough and it all may collapse anyway)? I am going with fighting back, and that means voting for candidates I like in primaries (and if the Greens/Nader/Libertarians really cared they'd be fielding real candidates there) then (unfortunately) voting in the general election for the best option even if it is only moderately better. Things didn't get this way overnight and opting out just makes it that much harder to fix later.

So if I understand what you're saying, everybody should write in Chuck Norris on their ballots.
